Batty Week 1

Submitted by Sandy on Sat, 03/14/2020 - 11:08

I arrived at Batty's house and waited for his owner and Batty to come out.  I waited about 10 feet from the garage door and in a place where I could watch Batty's behavior and body language as he came out.  As he did, I saw a tail wag and Batty continued toward me in a calm state.  It was time for the first walk/training to begin.

Introducing Batty

Batty arrived at his new home recently. His owner and I have been in contact since late November after she had seen Batty’s picture and biography on the shelter’s website.  She asked me to accompany her to the shelter so I could observe and be introduced to Batty. When I entered the room where Batty's was waiting for us, I observed that he had borderline fearful/aggressive tendencies.  I was concerned, Batty’s behavior is a lot to handle and will be a challenge to correct. Batty’s a medium sized Jack Russell/Australian cattle dog and can be a strong dog, physically and mentally.

Following Dreams, Part 2

First Step

Two of the actions that I decided to take were to create a flyer and set up a Facebook page to promote my business.  With ideas floating through my head, I logged on to Vistaprint and began playing around with some of the templates that they had available.  I made up a simple flyer, included my business name, phone number, operating hours and outlined a few services I was offering.  Placed the order.  One action DONE!

Following Dreams

It's always good to follow your dreams.  I'm part of a group that is reading through the book "The Happiness Project" by Gretchen Rubin.  This book is Gretchen's reflectons on how she came up with a monthly plan to improve her life in one year.  Each month our group works through a chapter and we take a look at Gretchen's plan and apply this in our own life.  We don't follow the plan exactly as she does, this isn't a "one size fits all" type of plan.  Each month, we work on areas of life that can make us happy.  This month, one of the challenges is to start a blog.

Letters from Daisy and Auggie - April 2016 - Auggie

Dear Mom,

I'm sorry I haven't written, we've been incredibly busy!  Daisy told you all about the weekend and Monday, so I won't bother repeating what she said.  I will tell you I was an incredible helper for Sandy and her digging, she wants me to be her assistant any time she does digging.  She's trying to convince Mickey to help her dig up the garden, so far she hasn't been successful on that, she will continue to try and convince her that I am the best when it comes to digging.

Dear Mom,

Auggie and I have decided to take turns writing you a letter while you are on vacation.  Since I am the eldest and prettiest, I will go first.  We have had 2 sleeps since you brought us to Pennsylvania, we have 7 to go and I can't wait to see you!

Dear Mom,

From Daisy:

How are you?  I miss you and can't wait for you to come home!  I have to tell you that I was secretly hoping that you wouldn't have to leave to go to the board meeting, but now that I'm here with the Pennsylvania pack I realize that it was the best thing for you to do.

Why is mobile grooming more expensive?

While mobile grooming is more expensive than the salon groom, there are many benefits to having our mobile grooming truck come to you.  For many pet owners, the convenience and services provided by a mobile groomer are priceless.  Below are a few of the reasons clients mention when speaking about our mobile grooming service.
